Seminar - Dr. Laura Kleiman

CSB Alum Dr. Laura Kleiman  will be leading a roundtable discussion about careers in cancer research management and non-profit entrepreneurship.

Seminar title: “Cancer research management and non-profit entrepreneurship"

Laura Kleiman is a Scientific Research Director of the cBio Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and founding Executive Director of Cures Within Reach for Cancer. Laura obtained a B.A. in biomathematics from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in computational and systems biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She was an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where she trained in clinical and translational research. Laura subsequently worked as Project Manager at the non-profit GlobalCures, where she led all start-up activities for a cancer clinical trial. At Dana-Farber, Laura provides leadership and direction for the new cBio Center for computational and systems biology and informatics. Laura recently launched Cures Within Reach for Cancer to facilitate the development of effective and affordable cancer treatments based on repurposing of non-cancer generic drugs.
